Dr. Helders received his Master’s of Physical Therapy from Stockton University in 2001 and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in 2015. In 2013, Dr. Helders also obtained a certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. This elite certification obtained from the McKenzie Institute confirms that a physical therapist is proficient in assessing and treating the spine and extremity joints using the MDT method.

Additionally, Dr. Helders has received training through Maitland-Australian Approach, the Mulligan Concept, as well as the Institute of Physical Art. In 2022, Marc successfully completed his certification in dry needling through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy. He is continuing his dry needling education through Evidence in Motion. Dr. Helders is also our resident Golf rehab expert. He is a certified Level 2 Titleist professional, accredited by the distinguished Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) and completed the “Back to Golf” and the “Functional GolfLinks” programs. All three programs are widely regarded nationally and are designed to improve golfer’s strength, conditioning and performance. Marc is certified to assess and treat the biomechanics of both baseball pitchers and hitters through OnBase University. He is eager to apply the principles of physical therapy to the biomechanics of baseball.

Marc is also invested in treating patients with chronic pain. He realizes there are many facets to an individual pain experience. For this reason, Marc completed his certification as a Therapeutic Pain Specialist (TPS) in 2022. Dr. Helders is also an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor and the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education at Joint Motion. He enjoys instructing, empowering, training and forging graduate physical therapy practitioners using the expertise of the clinic. Marc lives locally with his wife and enjoys golfing weekly with friends and family.
