Certified ORS Personalized Blood Flow Restriction Provider

Dr. Cristina Cacoilo joined the Joint Motion Physical Therapy Team in September of 2022. She graduated from the University of Scranton with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Cristina has a passion for both Orthopedics and Pediatrics and has experience working with patients of all ages ranging from toddlers to adolescents to geriatric individuals. As a former gymnast for several years, Cristina has knowledge to facilitate rehabilitation for not only gymnasts and female athletes but athletes of all sports and ages. Throughout her time in Scranton, Cristina worked as a strength and conditioning trainer for the University’s Division III athletic teams, where she was responsible for creating exercise programs and instructing proper lifting techniques for each athlete in order to further excel in their competitive sport and prevent injury. This influenced her drive to study for and soon become a CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning specialist). This experience has given her extensive practice to individualize patient programs tailored to specific goals, which is an essential component of physical therapy.

She is Certified in Blood Flow Restriction Therapy through Owens Recovery Science. She also has been trained in Myofascial Decompression techniques and incorporates cupping into her manual therapy treatments, which has been proven to restore blood flow, mobility, decrease tissue tension and improve patient outcomes. She truly loves that due to her profession, she is able to spend her days getting patients stronger, healthier and leading happier lives.

Cristina is a firm believer that movement is medicine and puts it into practice every day by living an active, plentiful lifestyle.
